Hey Team, i founded this article that had some interesting concepts on the Importance of Social interaction in children that provides a "Motivating Force" to increase in a higher Mental functioning.
Vygosky realized Children had a bigger advantage working in smaller, interacting groups. One of the bigger issues he had to distinguish between inter and intrapsycholigal processes. One of his quotes was,
"Every function in the child's cultural development appears twice: first, on the social level, and later, on the individual level; first, between people (interpsychological) and then inside the child (intrapsychological). This applies equally to voluntary attention, to logical memory, and to the formation of concepts. All the higher functions originate as actual relationships between individuals."
At the time Pyschologists thought that the Inter and Intra would be developmentally "backwards" for the development of all areas. Vygotsky found that his subjects were naturally moved from exchanged verbal activity than isolated verbal activities. With Cooperative activities and projects help them more with a learning process than being isolated.
In conclusion mainly Vygotsky says that young students develop better when they are in smaller groups and have exchanged verbal activities where they would work as a "team." their learning processes help them succeed. Using some of my previous research and i believe the erikson graph it shows that this stage of development is crucial with a child's learning.
