Welcome to the HIA forum!
This forum is meant as a way for us to consistently communicate about HIA throughout the week rather than only at the meetings. In addition to e-mails and saving things to the drive, i will also be posting information here. If there is something to discuss, write about it here.
If you've ever used the discussions tab in D2L before, this works kind of the same way. The following pictures very simply explain how to navigate the forum. Look over it and explore on your as well. I'm still putting some things together, but you can click any link you see to figure it out.

This is what the home page looks like. You can roam and post as a guest, but if you want to make an account for this forum, click where the arrow is pointng to log in. Creating an account allows you to customize your profile and keep track of your posts, among other things. It's not necessary to make one as long as you still participate in the conversations.

You will see that some of the threads have special folder icons next to them. There is a legend at the bottom of the screen to help determine what they mean. Click on the threads that have the "new" icon to see what posts you missed while you were away.

When you want to start a new thread to open up a new discussion, click where the arrow is pointing. Otherwise, you can reply to existing threads if there is already a discussion happening.

You can quickly reply to a thread at the bottom, which will post a comment with no formatting, or you can click where the arrow is pointing.

When you are replying or creating a new thread, the page will look like this (thread replies won't have the option for a subject line, though). There are tools at the top to help with formatting.
IMPORTANT: If you want to format your reply instead of having plain text, BE SURE to click the tab where the arrow is pointing. This will make it easier to format and understand as if you're just usng a word document.

If you don't click Preview, the text box will stay in BBCode, which looks like this. It's can be confusing if you use it that way, so to save you the headache always click the preview tab.

If you want to reply specifically to a person's comment in the thread, click "Quote" on their post instead of the reply button.

You can delete the rest of the message so that the only quoted part is what you are specifically replying to. Be sure not to erase the username and post information at the top of the quote.
If you saw this and understood, please reply in this thread.
