Use this thread to help other committee members with their areas of research if you know something that could be useful.
This is just my list of things I was looking at that might be helpful to others.
Databases ERIC Can be accessed on the ECC library database. These are sources related to education research and development. I found a lot of articles the situational group (David and Jessica) might be interested in by searching "early literacy development" AND "low income"
UNESCO A worldwide organization that focuses on globalizing access to education and addressing other obstacles in education in various parts of the world. Great for getting a more global perspective, and they have their own database and archives full of reports and other sources. Might be more difficult to navigate though.
ISBE Illinois State Board of Education. Might be more for Kristen and I, but has a bunch of sources and reports on Illinois educational policy and standards.
You could also refer to textbooks from previous classes you might have had. Sociology, psychology, human geography, and anthropology books would be ideal subjects.
Psychology team If looking into cognitive development, you might want to look up applications of Piaget's and Vygotsky's theories of development. They are widely used and accepted theories applied in teaching practices.
If you have other suggestions, post them in the comments.
